These are the cowboys of space navies. One man ships are not possible because someone has to always be watching to avoid little things like atoms that will destroy even a bigger ship at anti-gravitonic, much less preon speeds. Impacting anything moving this fast imparts a phenomenal punch to the object intersected with. A sloop simply is too small to generate a strong enough shield to protect itself, it must therefore avoid everything.

On top of watching for problems, the ship has to be maintained and fought. Therefore, three three person rotations are essential for deep space. One and two person craft are panetary defense only.
