One of the amazing things to me about our current world is why so many individuals hate people. Things are too crowded, people use too many resources, there’s no elbow room.
The suggested solution is to get rid of the extra people. Three billion in 1970 were too many. Eight billion today are too many. Would one million be okay?
China under the tyranny of the Chinese Communist Party instituted a draconian one child policy. It has just this year begun a population decrease. Other developed countries are also in population freefall such as Japan, Italy, Russia and others. Most did it voluntarily by couples having one, two or no children or foregoing marriage entirely.
Quite frankly, this is silly. We have a lower percentage of people in extreme poverty than at anytime in history. We have fewer people as an actual number of individuals who are starving than anytime in recorded history. There are wide open spaces in most countries. (Singapore being a notable exception.)
Most important, talented and educated people solve problems. The air is cleaner today than fifty years ago everywhere (except China. Communism and stupidity seem inextricably linked.) More people lead to a better life for everyone.
So why do so many hate people and want to get rid of them? I frankly don’t know.
